mold testing

No Guessing Necessary

When you need to know for sure whether you have a mold problem, mold testing will give you the answers you need. If you can see mold on the walls, you can get mold treated without getting it lab tested. However, if your insurance company requires confirmation of the mold infestation, mold testing is the only way to have conclusive proof of mold.

How Mold Testing Works

When mold testing specialists come out, they collect air samples, and less often samples of materials affected by mold. We typically take two samples:

  1. Control sample - By taking a control, we can measure the normal amount of mold in the air in the area around your property. Typically, the control sample is an outdoor air sample.
  2. Sample from the affected area.

Both of these samples are important, because the test results must be compared to each other to understand the mold problem you have. The laboratory will measure not only the amount of mold spores in the sample, but will also test to discover the type of mold.

Our Mold Testing Service

Basic mold testing costs $350, and includes two testing samples. On rare occasions, it might be recommended to take additional samples (usually not more than one or two) to document the mold problem. For each additional sample after the first two, there is a fee of $75. These extra samples are completely at your discretion, and the mold testing specialist will discuss with you his recommendations so you can decide if they are necessary. Your written report is typically ready for you within two to three working days, and may take as long as five working days. If needed, we can put a rush on your testing results for $25 per sample, and you can have the results the next day.
